Commercial sheet vinyl
A busy building needs more than an attractive floor. Commercial sheet vinyl offers different solutions for daily traffic, cleaning and interior design. Dutch Project Flooring supports selection, preparation and installation for projects in Spain, the Netherlands and across Europe.

Homogeneous or heterogeneous: an important distinction
Homogeneous vinyl has a consistent type of material construction through its thickness. Heterogeneous vinyl is built from different layers, including a decorative layer and wearing surface. Both serve commercial projects, with different possibilities for design, use and maintenance.
Tarkett iQ Granit and Acczent Excellence Compact+ are examples of these two categories; suitable collections from other manufacturers are considered too. Collections provide a starting point for comparison; the final decision always concerns an exact product reference with its supporting technical documentation.
Start with everyday use
What will move across the floor? A corridor carrying trolleys has different demands from a meeting room. Castor chairs, dirt at entrances, movable furniture and available cleaning time also help define an appropriate specification.
In schools, a restrained design can connect classrooms and circulation areas. In healthcare, required cleaning procedures and junction details matter alongside traffic. An office might benefit from a wood or mineral design, while another space needs a simple colour arrangement.

Seams, skirtings and transitions matter
Sheet vinyl creates a different joint pattern from tiles or planks. We plan sheet layout around room dimensions, circulation routes and the selected collection. The appropriate seam and edge details are included wherever the system and application require them.
A coved skirting or welded seam is a construction detail, not a general guarantee that a room is waterproof or clinically suitable. For specialist spaces, the complete package must be assessed against the specification and client requirements.
Compare acoustics and maintenance carefully
An acoustic construction may be relevant, but it must be considered alongside loads from furniture and wheeled equipment. Impact sound between floors and sound within a room are also different questions. Technical data for the actual product guides a meaningful comparison.
Maintenance varies with the product and surface treatment. We therefore identify the applicable instructions and the team responsible for daily cleaning before installation. Protecting the floor during subsequent building work belongs in the programme too.
A complete supply and installation plan
We assess the subfloor and discuss removal, levelling, junctions and handover. If the building remains occupied, we consider a workable sequence of phases.
Cost depends on more than total area: room layout, substrate condition, details and access all matter. Send drawings and room descriptions for a focused proposal. Site advice is available by appointment.

Frequently asked questions
Is sheet vinyl the same as PVC planks?
Both may be vinyl products, but sheet flooring and modular LVT planks have different dimensions, joint patterns and installation systems. We compare them for the proposed application.
Can one floor be used throughout the building?
Sometimes, but that should not be the only objective. A different construction may work better in a wet area, quiet workspace or heavily trafficked corridor.
Can you work with a specified brand or product reference?
Yes. Include the reference and specification in your enquiry. We review supply, installation and junction details, resolving unclear requirements before work begins.
